Even though this is kind of rough, I'm still quite proud of it. I've been working on this for the last two days or so and am very happy with how it turned out. I've been wanting to do a post-apocalyptic deviation for quite some time now, but I never really got around to doing it.
Originally the picture only consisted of the figure standing there looking over the wastes, but it didn't really tell you about what had happened. Just looked like some guy in a gasmask and fuzzy jacket looking over some place with snow and didn't really get the point across, so I decided to throw in the sign to give it a locale.
The texturing of the jacket is scratch work, though I had to trace over the ref to get the shape and I used several different refs of gasmasks to try and make one with a unique style yet still fall into the parameters of what a gasmask should look like. The background is scratch work, not hard to guess from the simplicity, and the sign is just one I found on google that I edited to give a weathered look to.
As I said before, I am very happy with how this turned out and can only hope some of you people like it.
One final note, I have nothing against Nevada, it's just the first place that poped into my head when I thought "Nuclear Winter"
So, let me know what you think. Good, bad, any and all comments are welcome.
